2015 Program Descriptions

New Programming Lineup for 2015

For 2015, our chapter restructured it's curriculum and class schedule to better lend itself to The First Tee’s expanding standards of high quality youth development programming. The curriculum was developed by experts in the field of positive youth development through sport, to seamlessly weave golf and character building activities into each lesson.

You’ll recognize the same level names as in previous years. What has changed is that each level is now broken up into sub-levels to allow your child the opportunity to fully benefit from The First Tee’s curriculum. The focus is not only on golf skills, but also interpersonal skills, self-management, goal setting, and resiliency skills.

Classes will continue to be offered in our usual one week, camp style schedule. However, we are also adding 5-week sessions, which include evenings and Saturday classes to accommodate alternate schedule needs.

If you are already a participant of The First Tee Aurora & Fox River Valley, please look on the bottom of this document to see what your current level status is within this new program structure.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the office at 630-499-0680 or e-mail us at Admin@TheFirstTeeAurora.org.

School Program

From September to May, First Tee of Aurora & Fox River Valley Coaches visit over 40 schools in the Aurora and Oswego area and work with over 10,000 children. The coaches facilitate a one to two week pilot program through the children's physical education classes. In 2009, nearly 300 children received scholarships to attend the Summer Program based on their school participation. The focus of this School Program is to reach out to those children who qualify for the Free/Reduced Lunch program at school and offer them an opportunity to attend our Summer Program at no charge.
